I was thinking about doing a stream, but there are some issues with that. I'd want to put in an extensive delay so any potential opponent watching the stream couldn't cheat me. Also, to make the stream interesting for viewers I would have to discuss my line of thinking. Any opponent watching the stream, could figure me out, and then beat me in a subsequent round. Also, there isn't a critical enough mass of players to make it so people wouldn't know they are playing against me.

That said, I'll give it a go anyway.

Awesome! Make sure to post the link on the forums.

A big problem I see at the moment is, that there are practically no people streaming / "Let's playing" the game. If you do a search for Cordial Minuet on YouTube you basically find nothing. Streams / YouTube videos could potentially spark more interest for the game.
So I'd encourage everyone who does streaming or maybe wants to try it to stream CM or upload CM videos to YouTube.

What you seem to think is a negative aspect, is actually a positive aspect. The game is hard and rewards better players. That is a good thing. If better players are hiding their strategies during the first rounds, then you should be doing the same thing as well.

I am doing it. As I pointed out, a lot of people do it. It makes sense, the first rounds don't matter that much, it's not worth taking a big risk for a very small pot. I just feel the middle phase, when starting pots are beginning to matter and it might be worth stealing pots here and there, compared to the later phase where playing any pot is a big commitment, feels a bit short. And during that last phase you usually are forced to make game deciding decisions, which is hard, if you don't really know how your opponent plays.
The middle phase is the most interesting to me, because the players can't ignore those pots ( and at the same time don't have to risk losing the match yet ), so they have to try to play at least some kind of winning strategy.

Hello everybody.

I’m not sure if this has been discussed already. But because of the limited match length which is caused by the quickly rising ante, it is hard for me to gauge my opponents skill/strategy and because of the in-game anonymity you can’t make assumptions about your opponent, because you already played him/her before etc.
I feel this problem gets intensified by that fact that a lot of the better players hide their strategies during the first rounds, when the ante is still low. That way effectively gauging your opponents strategy usually only starts later in the game when the antes are already up and rising, leading to committing situations pretty early.

I propose this could be improved by raising the ante only every second round after it reached a value of for example 3/4/5. What do you think? Do you think it's a problem, too?

Cheers.

xD Very mysterious. I'll send you an e-mail. Thanks!

Hello.

I would like to contact Jeopardy Alcohol. If he reads this, it would be nice, if he could contact me via this forum. If you know his nickname on the forum, maybe you can forward him this message, so he can respond.
Thanks a lot.
