Sharing CM on other websites

Hello, I am new to Cordial Minuet. I am enjoying it immensely so far. So much so that I decided to share it in a gaming website's forum. The topic I started can be found here.

Jason, I assumed sharing of this kind was allowed since in one of your replies in this forum you say streaming is allowed. If I assumed incorrectly, or you would like the topic I created removed for any reason, I will try to have it removed as soon as I can.

Re: Sharing CM on other websites

No direct link to forums. No answer to puzzle.

Looks like you're good! Jason's specifically trying to keep the forums off of Google results, so keep that in mind. But sharing directly with friends seems to be ok too.

Lastly, welcome fellow Starcraft junkie tongue

Re: Sharing CM on other websites

Jason's said that he's happy for people to invite friends, and we already have lots of players after the recent Kotaku article. People already pointed out the answer was 'Demonic Ritual' on twitter ages ago.

Yes, that kind of sharing is encouraged!

And if you're communicating with a friend directly (like by email), please feel free to pass the SECRET KEY on to them.

Re: Sharing CM on other websites

What on Earth is the secret key? I found my way on through the Demonic Ritual front end.

I would like to share this with some friends who I know would enjoy this type of game.

The secret key is:

origin ensemble

But demonic ritual also works so as not to frustrate people who solve the anagram.

Re: Sharing CM on other websites

Good to know, Jason. Hopefully the thread will gain some traction and convince some people to give CM a try.

I have been trying to get friends and coworkers to play with me, but so far none have downloaded the game. I did coax a coworker to play a game with me at lunch. I used the magic square from my first game of CM (I took a picture to commemorate the occasion) and wrote it on two pieces of paper. We used highlighter to choose our columns. We didn't have the nice chart to the right nor did we do any betting. After playing a game and talking about what could've happened in each round of column selecting, my coworker seemed to enjoy the game.

Mevans, I had no clue what the secret key was either! I also found my way to the forums by typing "demonic ritual."

Re: Sharing CM on other websites

Cool, noone else yet has mentioned playing this on paper!

Jason said in another thread that he was willing to let you gift accounts with up to $3 out of your balance to friends, if you email him. That would be easier smile

Until a few weeks ago 'demonic ritual' went nowhere. 'origin ensemble' was emailed to play testers. Apparently some people also guessed it (by trying all 40 or so anagrams with 2 long words, I guess). Personally I got in by downloading the source code.

Re: Sharing CM on other websites

Yeah, I got emails from people who were frustrated:  "I solved the anagram but it led nowhere, what gives?"

So, I decided to let the anagram-solvers through too.

Re: Sharing CM on other websites

Actually, I can't remember how exactly I got here, but I definitely did not solve the anagram. To that affect, I hadn't even realized that that's what the textbox at the bottom was for. I think I eventually found a search engine result leading to the forum after scouring the internet for "Cordial Minuet (alpha/beta)".

Sorry Jason sad

Really, computermouth? When I see topics from the CM forum in Google, the links go to http://cordialminuet.com/originensemble/.

Re: Sharing CM on other websites

Funny... I was wondering how Google found it.

But yeah, I leaked it myself when Creature Expression posted that strategy article.  Oops!
