I miss CM too! It was a rather special experience.
Looking forward to it.
I'm wondering if there will be beta testing / Steam early access...
If this challenge is still open, I'll take you up on it. I've got $20 and some cents still left in my account. Seems like a fun and memorable way to close out playing CM.
That's nice. Definitely it's a worthy closure to end the ride with a final boss
Keep us posted!
As far as I know the receiver of Performer Frog's amulet has not been declared yet.
But I think I'm a good candidate as well
In any case I'm going to publish it's back photo should I receive it.
I think that with 1 hour lifetime I'd be very much concerned about what I leave to "future generations"...
which makes me wonder if it is possible to leave something written in this world...
Wow, it was a long and tense game... went low on stack at the beginning, then recovered a couple of times, but never managed to get dominant...
Well I think that's it for the good old Prof.
It was an exciting way to end it all, hope somebody else will take up the challenge
In the interest of injecting some life into this game. I will take on any challenger that contacts me via email or this board that is willing to bet their entire account and makes a gentleperson's agreement with me that we will not leave the game until all the chips are sent to one side of the table. Offer only valid where the value of the challenger's account is greater than $20 and less than the value of the current value of my account (which is currently $481). If you are one of the two people with more money in the game than me, then we will play for entire value of my account.
Oh, that's quite exciting (and scary)!
Cullman, I take the challenge up.
My account is $25 and I agree not to leave the game until one the two stakes is zero.
I live in Europe with 9 hours shift form PDT... I'll write you via mail to try and arrange a time which is feasible for you.
It's nice that the server won't be shut down!
Maybe it would be feasible to give a community member you trust (someone like Jere or Josh) the possibility to edit the tournaments dates and stakes?
If I will be elected as Amulet holder I promise I'll publish on the forum it's back photos
And I will only use its power for the common good!
...
my precioussssss
Nice game!!! Really, thank you for sharing guys!
There were a couple of REALLY tense moments...
The setup starts in 6.66 seconds...
At the moment I'v got 22$ and I'd really like to play some 5-10$ tournaments rather than withdraw.
Unfortunately the actual ones are 3am to 6am in my time zone which are out of reach in my time zone... at least until next week's holidays
I'd like to see one or more "farewell tournaments" which could be an occasion for old players to come and join last fight and meet up in Chatzy before eventually withdraw or retire.
Oh.. no... Performer Frog is definitely not in my basement...
and he'd like to add that he dances way better than that!
I could run two each day, spaced out by 12 hours. Maybe that would be better and hit everyone?
If there are enough players from the CET time zone if think that a tournament that starts just 7 o 8 hours earlier would be better: that would correspond to evening and during working days it would be the best time to play.
That's very interesting!
Within few days I'll try it and will be glad to give some feedback.
Max...?! some conspiration theorists suggest it might be JA first name's leaked out
Ok, I had a night of good sleep and cooled down.
Jason, I'm sincerely grateful for your proposal, but I renounce the entry fee refound.
In the end I played knowing the rules, actually it was also the dynamics of the last ten minutes of my tournament that made the outcome so bitter.
Your proposal, the change of rules and the support of Claspa and Josh in particular more than make up for it.
And thinking about money: until now I did deposit 20$ in CM (less than, say, the cost of the Witcher 3) and I had way more than one hundred of hours of fun and interesting time with it (never lasted more that 80 hours in an RPG ). Yet after I receive my Amulet tournament prize my balance will be of about 24$, mostly from your money, already on the profit side of things and enough to join future tournaments.
Finally, as in any good super-hero movie, I now have my super-villain and my motivation (well, in the movies they kill some dear one... but a last minute sniping will do anyway )
I'll have my (unlikely?) revenge on JA...
The winners are determined according to who has the most net profit at 50-cent games against other tournament players by the deadline
According to this sentence JA's profit at 50-cents games is not zero, it's non-existing
I guess the PHP sever didn't study philosophy though...
Ironically if I didn't gave Jason his share of the coins during the games my tournament profit would have been positive and I'd win a prize anyway...
punished for paying the taxes? :_)
BTW congratulations to Josh! He dominated from start to end.
After winning at the last minute a game that would allow me to be among the prize winners I notice JA just joined the tournament and was ahead of me without playing any games...
Refreshing the leaderboard after the adrenaline rush to find it out was awful
I hope the Amulets contest cash prizes will be handed in before the tournament starts, so my balance would be higher than the entry fee
I think others are in the same situation.
Having the chance to win far more than you're risking is surely the main appeal of gambling. Hence the excitement generated by CM tournaments. Erm, we haven't had one in a while.
Yes, I'm quite looking forward to some "regular" tournaments.
I think it would be worth having them often and experimenting a bit with stakes, formats etc...
Also I dream of an Highlander Knockout tournament where there can be only one CM champion!
I would like to see the quotations of the copper ones here in demonBay...
Josh I thank you for the score graph, also because it made me realize something quite unexpected:
I actually play better without it!
Maybe it's related to me not being multitasking at all, but if I pay attention to the bar I loose the flow of the shapes and numbers... I kind of become unable to plan in advance a range of possible hands I try obtain, above all after the 1st pick.
At the same time I loose a grasp on the most likely results the opponent may have among the final 6, given the story of his bets.
Yes, I just heard it from performer frog!
performer frog also mentioned that they want to forfeit twisting fish to chin professor...
Jason, thank you so much for the contest.
It sure was a crazy time for many of us.
There have been a peculiar sense of community in the chat which I was surprised to miss as soon as the tournament ended.
We were rivals, but shared the common stress for the competition
I'm trying to convince minosons to send me back in time to Day 1, to concentrate my efforts on the copper amulets, were I stood more of a chance...
If you are reading this post I was not persuasive enough
