I was one of the 39. I took pictures of the booth and the inside just because it was so eclectic. I've been showing the pictures of it to many people. The thing is, it's hard to explain the game without a picture. (I should have took a picture of the game board.) It's also hard to explain the legality of it. It'd be nice if you had a splash page somewhere that gave an image of a game. A quick overview. And it's legality.
People are interested. It just feels difficult to spread info.
Hello, SteelNovember, and welcome to the CM forums! I shared Cordial Minuet on another website that I frequent. Perhaps it could help explain the game to others: Cordial Minuet by Jason Rohrer.
Thanks for your thoughts on PAX South. It sounds like you and your cousins put in an enormous amount of effort which is admirable. I hope those who enjoyed the game tell their friends about it. I've gotten three people I know to deposit money into the game and if those 39 each bring three...
Sorry to bump a thread I last posted in, but how did PAX South go, Jason?
flag ship is a pretty good name.
I wish I could be there in San Antonio today. Good luck at PAX South, Jason! I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to any updates that you might give.
I thought the same thing, but Nate could also just be watching Netflix or something with Cordial Minuet running on the side and will play once the game starts. Could result in significant losses.
I don't think any of them have been completed. Go for it and deposit the $3000 into the game!
I must admit, it is actually that article that led me to this game.
Yeah, I looked at the Leaders by Dollar Balance and saw that only one player has enough money in the game to create it.
This is getting away from the topic, but I take it that a person could play a game on each of their accounts simultaneously?
More CM names I found worth mentioning:
fork pleasure
body skin
onslaught volcano
You may actually be the greatest winner of all with origin ensemble.
Jason, what are the special souvenir payouts that you made?
Who would've guessed, Professor Chin?
That's a good name, Mevans.
Nate's Best CM Names? thread has inspired me to ask: what's your CM nickname?
Agreed! I intentionally left it out of my list thinking it may be offensive to some or viewed as sexist.
There are so many good and funny names I read on the leaderboards that it's hard to choose what to share here in this thread. The one friend I've been able to convince to play Cordial Minuet was given the nickname "hospital student" which is great since he was at one time a student at a hospital.
Here are a few that I think are good: fun dream, butcher mercy, hoof decoration, elephant caterpillar, girl procession, star science, spirit soul, namesake author.
Is it allowed for a person to deposit money using multiple email address to obtain multiple nicknames to play as?
How do you know your nickname?
Maybe a weird questionbut I can't remember giving a nickname consisting of 2 words.
You don't choose your own nickname. A nickname is given to you that consists of two words from a set of 666 words Jason has chosen. I forget exactly how he chose those 666 words, but there's an explanation behind it all somewhere in this forum. All I know is that the 666th word in that set is "destruction." Eerie.
You can find your nickname in the email you received confirming your very first deposit into the game. The subject of the email should be, "Cordial Minuet Deposit Receipt."
Edited to include link to thread explaining naming.
Oh, how I would like to attend. I will at least check travel prices for a day trip on Sunday. I better start playing and winning in higher stakes games to pay for the trip! haha
Ok, I just looked at flight prices and a round trip on Sunday would be a little under $800. Unfortunately, not worth the trip for me, sorry!
This gives me a legitimate reason to bump the CM thread I created!
jere, perhaps you could add each player's ELO rank or rating in the tweets.
I finally convinced one of my friends to play CM. In his first session of games he reached an ante of 31! Jason, is this the highest ante to date?
The highest I've played to myself is 17.
Really, computermouth? When I see topics from the CM forum in Google, the links go to http://cordialminuet.com/originensemble/.
Good to know, Jason. Hopefully the thread will gain some traction and convince some people to give CM a try.
I have been trying to get friends and coworkers to play with me, but so far none have downloaded the game. I did coax a coworker to play a game with me at lunch. I used the magic square from my first game of CM (I took a picture to commemorate the occasion) and wrote it on two pieces of paper. We used highlighter to choose our columns. We didn't have the nice chart to the right nor did we do any betting. After playing a game and talking about what could've happened in each round of column selecting, my coworker seemed to enjoy the game.
Mevans, I had no clue what the secret key was either! I also found my way to the forums by typing "demonic ritual."
Nice picture! I never got around to finishing Hikaru no Go. I should start watching it again as I learn to better play Cordial Minuet. Maybe then I'll be confident enough in my own skill to play more than $1.00 games.
Hello, I am new to Cordial Minuet. I am enjoying it immensely so far. So much so that I decided to share it in a gaming website's forum. The topic I started can be found here.
Jason, I assumed sharing of this kind was allowed since in one of your replies in this forum you say streaming is allowed. If I assumed incorrectly, or you would like the topic I created removed for any reason, I will try to have it removed as soon as I can.
