Honestly, I can't imagine a faster way for that to be done than the way you're doing it. I mean even if Jason programmed it in. Any controls would actually make the process slower for you in the long run, right? Phantom sliders for you to scroll up and down, pretending to be your opponents picks? You'd still have to scroll through each combination. Really, the way you're doing it looks like the best way it could be done. Maybe an overlay on top of each number for the range of scores possible from each pick? But how would that manifest? 16 more score bars?
Hundreds of games in the past 10 days!? I'm slackin!
I thought it might. I had actually been trying to build it similarly. I'd gotten the source from sourceforge instead of the forum, so when I saw your line about copying minorGems to the same folder, figured you must be in the same boat. Glad it worked ![]()
Is this with the UnixSource? I'd think the runToBuild would work on windows under msys since it's pretending to be a unix environment. That way, if the problem lies in placement of files, using the other source should do it. It has the same platform specific prompts.

I have to know though... Is there a way to legitimately figure out the anagram posted at cordialminuet.com??
Be good at figuring out anagrams! There's also websites that'll vomit anagrams at you if you search for certain letters.
Oh, huh, interesting. I didn't know anything like that existed. Leave it to Unix hardcores to invent something cool 30 years before you hear about it!
CooOoOooOool.
I saw that they had it embedded into a Windows login too. But how do you use it with ssh? Server script to authenticate, then open ssh port?
That's a bummer about Blackhat, I'd heard it was less hollywood-hackery than most movies. Also, check this out. It's a movie hacker (distro thingie?) running an absurd UI like you see in the movies, but with Linux under it and a usable terminal.
Quick checklist.
Do you have MSYS installed?
Did you grab the SDL development libraries(not the runtime or source)?
Did you get the source from here?
I've always had terrible luck with getting near anything to work properly under MSYS or Cygwin.
One of the other castledoctrine forum members mentions cross compiling from Linux. That's an option, but you'd have to change the compiler in 'CMSource/minorGems/game/platforms/SDL/Makefile.MinGW' on line 40 from g++ to g++-mingw-w64-[your_platform].
EDIT:
You could also put new 'echo "$someVariable"' lines in the configure script to see what it's doing or where it's bailing.
Probably for the best. I've only recently started dipping my toes in webdev stuff, but I've already heard a bit to convince against using cpanel. Sounds like you've got it covered though. I'll cross web-logins of the list of possible weakspots!
I've gotten to a few YubiKey prompts poking at your server. It's a pretty neat idea. But how does it really work? Is it phoning home to check the code? Or are the codes relative to some installed key?
Would gladly trade for Vegetable Duty.
When my software hits it big, I'll wrassle the title from you ![]()
I think that would just bring back the ultra conservative for 2-3 rounds, then resuming the very aggressive leavers.
When I first jumped on, I reached ~20th on the elo boards. If it weren't for judge, I'd be the game's alltime loss leader. Things change. I still maintain that my playstyle is getting better.
I logged in fine.
This is getting away from the topic, but I take it that a person could play a game on each of their accounts simultaneously?
Yes, but multiple cards would be required. JR's set it so that each card can only be used per one account.
I poked around at the few PMA vulnerabilites I've read about over the years(but can't actually find his PMA location(if he even uses it)), some of the source code, and packet injection. You might be surprised how much of it JR has clearly thought out once you start digging around.
Ha! I took a screenshot and went to make a post too. I don't even have a credit card that I could drop that kind of money onto to check.
Makes sense. Don't forget to bring a backup machine!
Wish I could! Will they be playing on the live server, or a separate one?
He puts up a game for between $5 and $15, he will play a few rounds and not raise much, if ever. Then when he is able to get about a 10% or more lead HE QUITS... so instead of playing the game out and risking losing any of that money, he quits and takes 50 cents or more home to the bank. The only games I've seen him go all in on are the ones that I've initiated it.
I guess this is one way to play the game... or play the system
Doesn't everyone do this? The LEAVE button is there for a reason. Get money -> run with it. If I'm playing anything over $1 and feel like I'm playing against someone who is as good or better than me, I try to get out after a 20% chip lead.
Please no in-game chat ever. The unofficial chat is great, but I'd definitely prefer to never talk to anyone I am/have played against.
Oh no, you know what it was? The sign-up form.
Oh, don't be such weenies. All of this will be nullified once the game is opened to public and user count grows.
Actually, I can't remember how exactly I got here, but I definitely did not solve the anagram. To that affect, I hadn't even realized that that's what the textbox at the bottom was for. I think I eventually found a search engine result leading to the forum after scouring the internet for "Cordial Minuet (alpha/beta)".
Sorry Jason ![]()
