Personally, I think the system is currently great. It makes sense: as a player, in the theme, and in the meta.

#77 Re: Main Forum » New rising ante » 2015-01-15 08:16:06

Personally, this even fits my play style. I use the first couple rounds to play conservative, bet low, and read the opponent while letting the betting do most of the talking. Then later hone in the applicable picks and try to use what I've learned. I'm excited to try it out!

No direct link to forums. No answer to puzzle.

Looks like you're good! Jason's specifically trying to keep the forums off of Google results, so keep that in mind. But sharing directly with friends seems to be ok too.

Lastly, welcome fellow Starcraft junkie tongue

I suppose that's just the way it has to be. Otherwise, false disconnects could be abused.

#80 Re: Main Forum » Another test tournament » 2015-01-13 21:09:20

Maybe that's why he knows when to hold them and when to fold them. I've been doing this all wrong!

#81 Re: Main Forum » Another test tournament » 2015-01-13 17:26:24

Josh, I'd emailed Jason about the same problem with refreshing the leaderboard. He said he'd changed the code.

Plus, knowing when to leave a match is kind of part of the game. The object of the game is to walk away with more money. I like the idea of an actual matched tournament, even with eliminations. But there's also only about 15 players committing to each over a several hour span. It'd probably be hard to get proper matchups working.

#82 Re: Main Forum » Testing 3-coin ante » 2015-01-13 05:04:56

^that sounds like madness. To me, at least, no offense intended. I was a voice in favor of antes, but still I've definitely felt like there was more of a reason to commit. And it seemed like my several games with several different opponents today reflected that.

In any case. Is one day of data enough? I think we should at least stick it out and have a look at a week or so.

#83 Re: Main Forum » Denied by server? » 2015-01-13 03:42:12

Just out of curiosity, what happens to live games during such a hosing? Let's say I was in a second round pick and both players had already committed 10 chips.

#84 Re: Main Forum » Another test tournament » 2015-01-12 21:22:07

There's currently 5 people with 0 games played set to receive a prize. Shouldn't it be a requirement that people play at least a game before being committed to the leaderboard/prize pool? Otherwise, people could theoretically enter the tourney en masse, not play a game, wait, and cross their fingers.

#85 Re: Main Forum » Saturday $5 Tournament » 2015-01-10 21:13:27

I assume it'd have to be after both final bets have been placed, and only if a re-bet isn't required. And perhaps if both players called an all-in after all numbers were picked.

#86 Re: Main Forum » Saturday $5 Tournament » 2015-01-10 21:05:59

Dang! Got bumped down right in the last 15 minutes there!

#87 Re: Main Forum » Canuckistan players » 2015-01-10 21:04:57

Oh cool, turns out they've handled a bunch of my web transactions in the past for various things. Thanks!

#88 Re: Main Forum » Canuckistan players » 2015-01-10 20:49:58

Jason, a few people have asked me, who are you using for the payment API (both payment and withdrawal if they're separate services)?

#89 Re: Main Forum » Saturday $5 Tournament » 2015-01-10 20:10:45

That's it for me, I only had an hour to play. Good l̶u̶c̶k̶  games everyone!

#90 Re: Main Forum » Saturday $5 Tournament » 2015-01-10 04:30:20

#92 Re: Main Forum » A new test tournament » 2015-01-09 08:46:43

Ohhhhh, perhaps then an in-game timer for future tourneys?

#94 Re: Main Forum » A new test tournament » 2015-01-09 04:19:25

Leaderboard changed, but there's another player listed now with 0 games played and placed 3rd.

#95 Re: Main Forum » A new test tournament » 2015-01-09 03:40:26

Heads up, Rohrerbucks. Judge doorman's pulling a prize with no games played according to the query.

#96 Re: Main Forum » A new test tournament » 2015-01-09 02:02:27

Ah, I'd figured you'd just filled your pockets and hit the town on my fat pennies! Good games though, you're a tough player.

#97 Re: Main Forum » A new test tournament » 2015-01-09 01:28:57

Haha, nah, I'm not worried about it. It's just my pride </3

#98 Re: Main Forum » A new test tournament » 2015-01-09 01:10:59

I'll upload all my code and an .apk tomorrow, it's time I went to bed.

Wow, nice work! I'd love a look at the code
